We can confidently advise those working within it and those outside who use it. We offer practical and commercial advice on all areas of insurance and reinsurance law to insurers, reinsurers, policyholders and other insurance professionals Our Insurance & Reinsurance Group advises on coverage issues, claims handling, policy drafting and all other aspects of insurance and reinsurance law. We offer advice and assistance on the negotiation and drafting of policy wordings, advising on new and existing wordings and assisting on the interpretation of wordings in the context of claims handling and coverage issues. We also assist in resolving issues which arise between insurer and reinsurer, such as where their policies do not appear to be back to back or where there are other potential ambiguities or inconsistencies in the forms of cover. We are able to assist on all forms of non-marine insurance and reinsurances and advise on both facultative and treaty reinsurances. We also advise on relationships and service contracts between insured or insurer and their professional insurance advisors. The claims handling experience of our Insurance & Reinsurance Group is second to none. We deal with all forms of professional indemnity claims, construction claims, financial lines claims, product recall and liability, engineering, manufacturing, property damage and business interruption claims as well as all forms of casualty claim (such as fatalities, HSE prosecution defences and personal injury claims). As well as the more complex high-value claims, we are able to handle small value claims on a standardised basis using a state of the art case management system, recognising that such claims usually need to be handled at low cost and in a time-efficient manner. There can be exceptions where a claim requires a disproportionate amount of effort or involvement. We recognise this and address it so as to give you a good quality service with a fee that is commensurate with the value of the job done. Our Insurance & Reinsurance Group handles all forms of international claim involving the London insurance market. We advise overseas clients who insure through the London Market and handle UK based claims for overseas clients. We deal with disputes on coverage where the jurisdiction under the policy or agreement is English. We regularly advise on forum, choice of law, jurisdiction and issues concerning conflicts of laws. We handle international arbitrations and are familiar with the rules and procedures which govern them. We are able to liaise with one of our many associated firms overseas to ensure that a matter is handled locally overseas in the most appropriate way. We work closely with our associated firms to ensure that our client's needs are met and that they are given the priority that they would expect of us.
